Research one source of renewable energy (pg. 82 Tucker) share research on your blog

Sources of Fuel

There are many different types of sources bioenergy being one. It is produced from organic matter such as corn, wood, or municipal waste These are renewable, but they need other sources of energy for their production. Fossil fuels are another source of energy providing 80 percent of the fuel for electricity in the United States. Coal is a natural source of energy that is mined and is abundant in some areas of the world. Oil is a fossil fuel and is dependent on foreign sources especially from the Middle East. Natural gas is a fossil fuel that is used for an alternative-fuel vehicle.

There are also many different types of energy producers such as wind energy. Turbines are places on landscape to capture the winds and convert them into energy in the form of electricity.  This is a source of energy that is easy to capture it has a high cost at the beginning; however, it takes up lots of land. Changing the use of the land and not allowing for anything else to be used there.

Hydropower is another source that is good for renewable energy as well as the storage of energy. I first think of my hometown when it comes to hydro powered energy. I live on a man-made lake that is created through a dam this created not only a source of energy but a lake that many visitors come to enjoy. The dam has made the lake a location.

Solar energy comes from the sun there are many methods to capturing this energy including photovoltaic cells and solar panels. This energy can be stored in batteries and used to generate electricity and heat water for buildings. The primary drawback is the cost of the methods of capturing the energy.

We can also think about energy in the context to humans and the comfort level in which people experience heating, cooling, and electricity. In heating there are many different means to receiving heat such as a hydronic system as an electric system. These include radiators, and heat pumps as well as more local systems like a space heater.

Geothermal Energy

This is thermal energy that is extracted from the Earth's crust. This energy can be used for many different purposes like electric power generation, space heating, and cooking. The Earths internal heat is vast and has lots of resources.
