Electrical Systems and Lighting 



    The electrical system is what supply's electricity to most buildings. This power can be generated by many different sources. Electricity travels from the utility company to the user through overhead or underground electrical lines as well as transformers. There are also many different components of an electrical system. There is connection to the direct building, cable types, electrical symbols, and energy management devices. Within the cord components there are also many different types of cable options for different applications. High capacity, coaxial cable, fiber optic cable, armored bx cable, and Romex. They each have different materials that make for different components. Some are insulated sheath and copper core. While some are metal or PVC, these are different ways of concealing the wiring itself. 


    There are also different energy management devices these keep the buildings well-insulated and lowering the thermostat temperature. There are also lighting control devices to dim or change the lighting elements within a space. Motion and daylight sources are useful to light a space that may not always need to be used, or you many only need for a moment. This can save energy by conserving when the power is being used. There are also dual switching options, these can help lighting to be turned on or off throughout a home or space. 



    Good lighting is so important for a space these impact energy efficiency as well as the sustainability of the building. Lighting also creates lots of heat within the space, the less lighting the less air conditioning you need in a space. The behavior of lighting depends on the material of the surface light that may be reflected. People can also perceive lighting very differently with different levels or types of lighting. 



    Incandescent lighting is primarily used in residential applications. It has a warm appearance and is dimmable, inexpensive. However, it is inefficient and gives off more heat than light. Halogen is a type of incandescent light that has a warm-white light to it. It has a strong focused beam of light and is typically used to display items and artwork. Fluorescent is mainly used in commercial applications and is energy efficient as well as being economical. High Intensity Discharge can have indoor and outdoor applications such as street lighting or parking garages.



RENDERING 



I had some observations about the effects that the lighting fixture in the space has on the rest of the room. The way the light from the exterior reacts as well as the color on the walls.
